We mentioned a few examples from popular media that show that people often violate prescriptive rules in actual speech. Think back on your education, particularly in writing. What prescriptive rules do you find yourself or others violating most frequently in conversation? Do you think that you ever follow prescriptive rules in speech? If so, when and where?
