In class, we briefly discussed a variety of writing systems by which people have used symbols to record their language (or at least some aspects of it). Even though we predominately use the alphabet, we also use some aspects of other writing systems. In particular, texting uses a wide variety of writing styles. Describe some different writing styles used in texting (provide examples, too) and explain why some other writing systems may be better for texting than simply the alphabet. Think especially about the need for brevity imposed by texting. The writing systems are covered in your book in Ch.  16.
